A Poem – Cruelty – You And Me

CRUELTY KILLS US ALL

Human rights are lights of life.

But what about the daily nine/Who feel despised and choose to die/In this modern hell/These times defined by crimes/Against the self?

Please don’t blame the victims/Of the games of sickning systems.

The fat float high/”Who’s that?” they cry /As families sigh/And nine more die.

I’m sick of men and women/Who drive us towards death.

There’s too much of that killing.

It’s whack. It’s wrong. It’s wet/With blood of those who love/& give & hope then fret.

And the pallid policies policing/Mental health have collared me/& cut cold deep episiotomies/Into my midwife’s soul.

In the name of safety/They maim me and they take me/Into callousness’s careless/Caverns of Control.

Cruelty./You and me.

Who has died?

Who has lied?

Who has cried/At suicide?

You. And I.

You. And me.

Cruelty.

Suicide.

Jacinta Allan’s Negligence on The Gender Suicide Gap Looks Like Manslaughter to Me

On June 18, I wrote online (reprinted below) to Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan about the Gender Suicide Gap and posted the letter 5 days later, if my 68 year old traumatised memory serves me correctly. I have not received a response from the premier to my concerns. My response to that failure to care about men is to create this website.

According to the latest figures available to me, The Gender Suicide Gap in Victoria is 351 male lives lost every year.

I believe a leading cause of this tragedy is institutionalised gender bigotry from the Australian Labor Party.

If Jacinta Allan does not do something about this, then I believe that the crime she is guilty of is manslaughter.

That’s nothing to smile about.

Nearly one man dead every day.

My unanswered letter from over a month ago (NB the figure below of about 4 deaths a day is a nationwide figure; 351 deaths a year – nearly one death a day – is a Victorian figure.):

“Victorian Premier Jacinta Allen,

I write to you:

A. as the grandson of a celebrity chef, Clarissa Fox, (my Nonna) who I believe could have been a granddaughter of one of the aboriginal cricket team of 1868.

B. as the grandson of two distinguished theologians, Professor AC Fox (my puppa) and the Right Reverend JR Blanchard (my pop pop, who, with my gran, Doris Blanchard, attended Queen Elisabeth’s coronation in Westminster Abbey)

and

C. as a now marginalised man who was a Registered Midwife in Victoria for 30 years

I ask you to:

A. recognise the seriousness of the Gender Suicide Gap of about 4 male deaths a day. Lifeline reports that 75% of suicide deaths in Australia are male.

B. recognise that Australian lives lost to suicide outnumber female lives lost to “femicide” about 40 to 1 (based on the Lifeline Australia figure of 8.6 suicides a day there were probably about 1340 suicides to June 6 this year; according to Femicide Watch Australia on twitter there were 33 “femicides” in 2025 up to June 6; 1340 divided by 33 = 40.60)

and

C. commit to the people to reducing government and non government bullying and demonisation of men

The above is what you should do, Jacinta Allan.

What will you do?
